CALCIUM HYDROXIDE “Ca(OH)2”

Manufacture of Ca(OH)2 by Dry Process The calcium hydroxide Ca(OH)2 produced by the dry process is divided into construction grade, industrial grade and food grade. It is primarily a process that utilizes calcined lime (calcium oxide), and then reacts it with hot water to produce calcium hydroxide. Advantages of the Dry Process:
  • Using the dry process can produce high-purity calcium hydroxide, and the finished product of calcium hydroxide is white, non-toxic, odorless, and non-corrosive.
  • There are no required large amounts of water throughout the entire process except for reaction water.
  • The dry process is simpler than the wet process, the finished product neither needs to be dried nor consumes a lot of energy, resulting in low production costs.
  • The dry process has less equipment maintenance and lower maintenance costs compared to the wet process.
